Overview
TMII Development, LLC is proposing to convey one parcel of land containing approximately 50.23 acres to the USFS. In exchange, USFS proposes to convey one parcel of land containing approximately 6.87 acres located adjacent to the Mary Jane lifts at the base of the Winter Park ski area to the proponent.
TMII Development, LLC plans to construct a condo complex, which they believe will “enhance Winter Park’s desirability as a destination resort.” The primary concerns are the lack of transparency regarding the appraised and environmental values of the exchange parcels, the mechanisms the agency is using to make the lands pass an equal value determination, and whether the exchange will result in a net public benefit given these factors.
Status and Timeline
CWPL submitted a formal objection to this exchange on April 15, 2024. CWPL has formally requested the release of the property appraisals through the Freedom of Information Act. We await response
